Sapphire is the name given to any stones of the corundum group that are not red (since red corundum is called Ruby). It is the second hardest known mineral on Earth, and comes in practically every color: yellow, green, purple, white, orange, pink, etc. And, of course, the famous blue sapphire. The word sapphire actually comes from the Greek word sapphirus, meaning blue. I guess the Greeks didn’t know there were other sapphire colors out there J In Persia, myth had it that the Earth rested on a huge blue sapphire, and its reflection is responsible to color the sky. It releases blocks from old heart wounds and helps us deal with any past issues that might be blocking out progress in the present, making it also a stone of rebirth in many ways. An interesting stone, zincite is an ore of zinc and other minerals, most found in Poland and New Jersey, USA. It induces creativity, creation, and manifestation of ideas. Amplifying personal power and physical energy, while removing blockages from the chakras and aura – anything that might get in the way of energy and creation. A good stone for
meditation also, since it has a mind-clearing property, and to carry or
wear when one is feeling “down” due to stress.
Zircon comes in every color you can think of. Much more effective than the man-made cubic Zirconia, it works on the crown chakra and the transpersonal point to help us see the Universal truth, and increase our intuition, durability, steadiness, integrity and connection with the All. It helps to make everything come together in life, connecting the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. As a healing stone, it can be used to ease depression and insomnia, and help to detoxify from poisons. Zoisite is most commonly of a half transparent to opaque green color with black inclusions, however pink and blue (tanzanite) colors have also been found. This is a stone of energy and stamina. It transmutes negative energy into positive, and relieves lethargy, boosting positive energy and stamina to the mental process. Zoisite helps us to achieve the goals we set for ourselves.
